The Newburyport/Rockport Line is a branch of the MBTA Commuter Rail system, running northeast from downtown Boston, Massachusetts towards Cape Ann and the Merrimack Valley, serving the North Shore.
A one-way fare on the subway is $2.40 with a CharlieCard, CharlieTicket, or cash. Reduced fares are available for eligible riders. Passes for 1 day ($11.00), 7 days ($22.50), or the Monthly LinkPass ($90.00) are also available.
Washington Street Trailhead: Entrance to the Clipper City Rail Trail on Washington Street in Newburyport, MA. Follow Winter Street (which is a one way street) to Washington Street. Limited parking is available on street in and around the trailhead entrance.
Two types of services are offered: Commuter and Express. Commuter Trains have a blue livery and stop at all stations, while Express Trains have a purple livery and focus on serving passengers using Taoyuan International Airport (TPE), stopping at just two stations between Taipei Main Station and the airport.
The MBTA Commuter Rail (reporting mark MBTX) system serves as the commuter rail arm of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority's (MBTA's) transportation coverage of Greater Boston in the United States. Trains run over 394 mi (634 km) of track to 134 stations.
Most commuter (or suburban) trains are built to main line rail standards, differing from light rail or rapid transit (metro rail) systems by: being larger. providing more seating and less standing room, owing to the longer distances involved. having (in most cases) a lower frequency of service.
Commuter Rail fares are determined by the Zones you are traveling to and from. A one-way ticket costs between $2.40 – $13.25. Round trip, 10-ride, and monthly passes are also available. Reduced fares are available for eligible riders.
There are several ways to purchase an Amtrak ticket: You can do it online or via Amtrak's app, you can buy tickets at the station, or you can order them over the phone. But Soto says there's only one way to go. "You will find better deals if you buy your ticket online instead of at the train station," Soto said.
Summary. Amtrak offers commuter lines that compete with city trains and driving can save money upfront, but parking costs can add up. Driving is normally cheaper than Amtrak trains upfront, but commuting on trains can be more relaxing and productive.
To ride the T, you'll need a CharlieCard or CharlieTicket, which can be purchased at most subway station vending machines and select convenience stores. The basic fare for a one-way ride is $2.40, and kids 11 years and younger ride free.
