90 Day Fiancé star Stephanie Matto has established herself as “The Girl Who Cried Wolf” of the franchise. Stephanie was a social media content creator and YouTuber when she first starred in Before the 90 Days season 4. She had met her photographer girlfriend Erika Owens online and was flying from New York to Australia to meet her. Stephanie was taking a big risk as she had aplastic anemia, which is a rare bone marrow disorder, and traveling was a risk. However, Stephanie took a chance and went to meet Erika even though the season ended with their split.
Stephanie and Erika were the first LGBTQ+ couple in the franchise. It was Stephanie’s claim to fame, but she soon figured out how to stay relevant online despite her story line being a mess. Stephanie admitted that she was a clout chaser. She accepted she liked getting attention. Stephanie is known for telling some of the wildest stories to her fans on social media, and while many take her claims with a grain of salt, some of her exaggerations have brought “fart jar girl” Stephanie worldwide fame.

Someone Had Catfished A Man Using Stephanie's Identity
Earlier this year, Stephanie spoke to US Sun about a man who’d flown to Connecticut to meet her after having spent thousands of dollars on gifts for her. However, Stephanie said she’d never spoken to him in her life. Stephanie woke up at 11 p.m. after her dogs started barking, and she saw a car parked in her long, private driveway. A man in his 50s or 60s stepped out of the car, after which Stephanie panicked and seemingly called 911 as she waited for the police to arrive. Police asked Stephanie if they knew the man named Louis.
They informed her he had come to meet her as he thought he had a date with her that night. Stephanie later found out that the man was talking to someone on Facebook who had catfished him using photos of Stephanie. He’d already spent a lot on gift cards on “Stephanie,” and had come to pick her up and take her to the hotel. Stephanie went through the catfish account’s post likes and saw a lot of “Nigerian pastors” and decided it was “clearly a Nigerian scammer.” She thought it was scary that the catfish knew her actual home address.

Stephanie had started the auction with a minimum bid of $100. While a “super fan” tried their best to win the auction, Davison agreed to pay up $2,700 for 60 minutes online with Stephanie. Stephanie also agreed to donate 10 percent of her earnings to charity. As per Stephanie, Davison wanted an hour to discuss marketing ideas with her.

In April 2024, Stephanie recounted an “awful experience” she had while dating a stand-up comedian who she met on Tinder. She said she lived in Los Angeles and worked as an exotic dancer where she went on a date with the “really big” man. He was on a hit HBO show about baseball. She claimed her first date with the man went very well, but things changed when he soon saw her on a sugar daddy dating website. He started acting strange by asking her “to be mean to him and to demand him to send me money on PayPal.”
Stephanie liked what was happening and thought she’d found her soulmate. They went on two more dates within a year, which involved her being mean to him and her taking his money. She finally brought up why he wasn’t asking her to be his girlfriend when he told her he was doing the same thing with three other women. Stephanie knew she was nothing special to the man and cut all ties with him and never spoke to him again.

Stephanie Is Refusing To Name & Shame Him
In May 2024, Stephanie had a new scandalous story to tell her TikTok followers. She said she was fired by a pro athlete who tried flirting with her when she was working as his daughter’s nanny. Stephanie used to visit the family’s residence on New York City’s Upper West Side and found the athlete becoming increasingly interested in her life.
Stephanie was followed by an Instagram account with a logo of the sports that the man was associated with. The 90 Day Fiancé celeb blocked the account when he started sending her messages like "You're so very beautiful," and "I wish I could get a chance to get to know you,’” and two days later, she was fired.
